Coomera Anglican College’s future-focused centre, The Pod, has not only been popular within the College community but has been recognised amongst the best in the industry at the 2018 Master Builders Queensland Housing and Construction Awards – awarding those at the forefront of building innovation and quality craftsmanship.

Alder Constructions took home the top title for the Best Educational Facility up to $10 Million for its development of The Pod.

Coomera Anglican College partnered with Burling Brown Architects and Alder Constructions to push the boundaries of education in the planning and construction of The Pod. Not only re-designing traditional features such as classrooms, computer hubs, offices and central common spaces, the sensory learning space is one of the country’s most immersive new learning facilities with leading technologies.

Using contemporary and progressive architectural principles, construction methods and materials, The Pod features extraordinary shapes, curves and voids, showcasing a 360 degree amphitheatre for virtual and augmented reality learning as well as writable walls, retractable AV and 3D printers.

Congratulations to Alder Constructions for this fantastic achievement and for bringing Coomera Anglican College’s vision to life.
